Mythic tales, spiritual icons, evolutionary biology, discoveries of the universe, poetry, history, ecology and technology; there is an innumerable list of things that can trigger an insight and narrative for Jovi Schnell's work. Often fusing the organic and the mechanic, her symbolic imagery traverses in scale from the microcosm to the macrocosm via architectures, schematics, maps, anatomy, botanicals, living creatures and apparatuses. Her colorful wall works, paintings and drawings seek to tug at the mysteriousness of life offering expressions of it's integrated complexities, cycles, and forces.
